About the Event
The Bono Regional Remembrance is one of four flagship events UNPAF Africa is convening across Ghana in 2026. Held on 21 September — the United Nations International Day of Peace — the event also marks Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, honouring Ghana's founding father and his enduring vision of African unity and self-determination.
The event brings together a broad coalition of stakeholders from across the Bono Region: traditional rulers, law enforcement agencies, inter-faith religious leaders, elected politicians, and organized youth. By convening this coalition under one roof, UNPAF Africa aims to strengthen the social fabric that underpins peace, security, and democratic governance at the regional level.
A highlight of the programme is the participation of Mr. Peter R. Lieze, National Treasurer of the UN Peace Ambassadors Foundation Africa, USA, whose presence reflects the global dimension of UNPAF Africa's mission and its strong diaspora partnerships.
