UNPAF Africa to Convene Bono Regional Stakeholders on UN International Day of Peace and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day

For Immediate Release — 9 August 2026

SUNYANI, BONO REGION, GHANA — The United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation Africa (UNPAF Africa) will hold the Bono Regional Remembrance on Monday, 21 September 2026, at the Glamossay Hotel Conference Room, Abesim–Sunyani Road, Sunyani, Bono Region, Ghana. The event will commence at 10:00 AM.

The gathering marks two significant observances: the United Nations International Day of Peace and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day. It will unite traditional authorities, law enforcement agencies, religious leaders, elected officials, and youth representatives under a shared agenda of dialogue and civic engagement.

This year's theme is: "Partnering Traditional Authorities, Law Enforcement, Religious Leaders, Politicians, and Youth — Promoting Democracy, Dialogue and Governance for Sustainable Peace, Security and Development in the Bono Region of Ghana and Africa."

The conference reflects UNPAF Africa's mission to build peace from the community up — engaging the full breadth of society, from grassroots youth to established traditional and institutional leaders, in honest conversations about governance, security, and the region's future.

"Lasting peace is built through partnership and dialogue. This gathering is an expression of that belief, bringing the Bono Region's most trusted voices together on one of the most important days in the global peace calendar."
